Abstract(#br)A promising new polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)/organosilica hybrid membrane has been developed and applied to the removal of sulfur from model gasoline by pervaporation. The introduction of organosilicas derived from bis(triethoxysilyl)ethane (BTESE) into the PDMS matrix led to a simultaneous improvement of permeance and selectivity of the resultant membrane.

Abstract(#br)In the present study, the effect of atmospheric pressure plasma treatment (APPT) on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) substrates was investigated in terms of both the chemical and topographical changes introduced to the polymer surface and its influence on PMMA-to-glass adhesion. The use of a silane-based primer in this bonding system was also studied. The changes introduced to the PMMA surface, as a result of plasma processing, were identified using a combination of: X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS); atomic force microscopy (AFM), and; contact angle analysis (CA).

The deposited TiO\u003csub\u003e2\u003c/sub\u003e needs a sufficiently high concentration of the photocatalytically active anatase phase which is produced at higher substrate temperature. As a consequence, the PVD/CVD techniques are limited to heat‐resistant substrates.

Fungal decay resistance and durability of organosilicon-treated wood

Abstract\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\tThe potential use of organosilicons as protective agents against basidiomycetes attack of wood used in outdoor applications was investigated using Scots pine sapwood and beech specimens. Both mini-blocks and EN 113 specimens were subjected to brown-rot and white-rot fungi. A dose–response could be observed showing that with higher weight percentage gain of the organosilicon, the resistance (i.e., efficacy) against fungi increased.

发展了一种柔性聚二甲基硅氧烷( PDMS )中间嵌段与阳离子2,2 -二羟甲基丙酸( bi- MPA )树枝端基合成树枝状线性聚合物杂化物的模块化策略。发明了一种可扩展的方法来访问羧酸季铵盐的积木,并将其直接用于酯化化学,使阳离子双MPA树枝能够快速访问。高带电树枝与疏水PDMS链端的汇聚点击耦合,形成了由不同树枝世代( G1 - 3 )和季铵烷基链长( C4、C8、C12、C16 )组成的12个成员的杂化体家族。这提供了一个具有可变疏水性、电荷密度和链端价的材料库。引入阳离子树枝状端基后,树枝状线型PDMS杂化共聚物的物理行为发生显著变化,链迁移率受到抑制,导致软固体材料。这些PDMS-树枝状杂化物有望作为表面活性的抗菌剂添加剂应用于大规模的交联有机硅体系。
