Abstract(#br)Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) hybrid composites consisting of exfoliated graphite nanoplatelets (xGnPs) and multiwalled carbon nanotubes functionalized with hydroxyl groups (MWCNTs-OH) were fabricated, and the effects of the xGnP/MWCNT-OH ratio on the thermal, electrical, and mechanical properties of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) hybrid composites were investigated.

Synergic enhancement of thermal properties of polymer composites by graphene foam and carbon black

Abstract(#br)A series of novel polymer composites consisting of graphene foam (GF), carbon black (CB) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) were designed and fabricated. Their microstructures and thermal properties were studied. An excellent dispersion of CB was achieved not only in the space of interconnected GF, but also in the interior of GF arms. Bi-network of thermal transfer path in the composites was made up by GF and CB when CB content reached 8 wt%. The synergic effect of GF and CB on thermal properties was well proved by the good performance of CB and GF co-filled composite.

Abstract(#br)The effect of carbon fibre (CF) on the mechanical and thermal properties of graphene foam (GF)/polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) composites was investigated. The CFs with different weight percentages (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 wt%) were thoroughly dispersed in the PDMS matrix using a high-speed shearing and stirring method and then the GF was filled with the mixture. The CF/GF/PDMS composites were characterized in terms of microstructure, mechanical and thermal properties using various testing techniques.
