PDMS grafting of mesoporous γ-alumina membranes for nanofiltration of organic solvents

Abstract(#br)In this paper grafting of mesoporous γ-alumina membranes with monovinyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), using 3-mercaptopropyltriethoxysilane (MPTES) as a linking agent, is described. The grafting performance of the organic moieties on γ-alumina powders was studied by FTIR. Contact angle measurements and solvent permeability tests were used to characterize the membrane properties. The results indicated that grafting reactions were successfully carried out.

Biomimetic PDMS-hydroxyurethane terminated with catecholic moieties for chemical grafting on transition metal oxide-based surfaces

Abstract(#br)The aim of this work was to synthesize a non-isocyanate poly(dimethylsiloxane) hydroxyurethane with biomimetic terminal catechol moieties, as a candidate for inorganic and metallic surface modification. Such surface modifier is capable to strongly attach onto metallic and inorganic substrates forming layers and, in addition, providing water-repellent surfaces. The non-isocyanate route is based on carbon dioxide cycloaddition into bis-epoxide, resulting in a precursor bis(cyclic carbonate)-polydimethylsiloxane (CCPDMS), thus fully replacing isocyanate in the manufacture process.

Modification of PDMS with acrylic acid and acrylic acid/ethylene glycol dimethacrylate by simultaneous polymerization assisted by gamma radiation

摘要\n在疏水聚合物中加入亲水性官能团,已被广泛用于开发新型医疗器械,在抗菌和生物相容性材料方面都有潜在的应用。考虑到这一点,本工作试图通过接枝丙烯酸和乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯共聚物( AAc / EGDMA )来改善PDMS薄膜的亲水性,从而改善PDMS在水中的溶胀性能。通过在水和pH缓冲溶液中进行溶胀研究和接触角测量,评价了AAc / EGDMA摩尔比和这些接枝基团的交联对这些材料性能的影响。采用电位滴定法估算不同接枝率的PDMS-g- ( AAc-co-EGDMA )薄膜上的酸基可用性。
