Abstract(#br)Self-healing anticorrosive coatings require healing agents with hydrophobic properties and low glass transition temperature. Polydimethylsiloxanes are group of compounds with high degree of hydrophobicity and very low glass transition temperatures. The nature of functional group of core material highly affect the properties of resultant microcapsules.

Abstract(#br)Microfluidics is an emerging technology for synthesis of drug-loaded micro- and nano capsules for targeted delivery and controlled release, which has extensive applications in tumor therapy and pharmacological study in healthcare. A number of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) microfluidic devices have been developed and widely used, while PDMS based microstructure device does not support long-term stability and repeated use, moreover it requires special facilities for fabrication and plasma bonding.

Photochromic cotton fabric based on microcapsule technology with anti-fouling properties

Abstract(#br)In this paper, we prepare a novel photochromic hydrophobic cotton fabric with high sensitivity after irradiated by ultraviolet light, excellent fatigue resistance, and good hydrophobic properties. Additionally, it can quickly return to the primary color under conditions of green light, heat or dark, respectively. The target photochromic spiropyrane compound was firstly synthesized and prepared into microcapsules as core and chitosan as shell to improve the fatigue resistance.
