Abstract(#br)Silica fibers (125 μm×1<ce:hsp sp="0.16667"/>cm) were coated with 3 μm-thick Tenax-TA films and investigated for possible use in solid-phase microextraction. The performance of these fibers was evaluated by comparing them with commercially available polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene (PDMS/DVB) SPME fibers. Performance was evaluated using static headspace extraction of n-alkanes at 25<ce:hsp sp="0.16667"/> ∘ C. Results indicate the high performance of Tenax-TA coated fibers in terms of adsorption capacity and uptake saturation time.
